Big news tonight. Huge. Hawks call up Hartman’s hair. The most naturally gifted head of hair in the Hawks organization besides Sharp. The picture above is from draft day. Looks like a little product to tame it. Maybe a little trim around the edges because his mom wanted him to look nice for pictures, but you can absolutely hit a nice soft 9 iron off of his head and he wouldn’t even notice. I think when he lets it fly, blow-dried and feathered he looks a bit like OC from Miracle.
Much needed addition to the team. Kane’s hair is holding on for dear life and it’s probably too much to ask of Sharp to carry the entire team at this point.
Actual Hockey Blog:
Who knows how long Hartman will be up, but he will be a more natural fit into the bottom 6 than Turbo was. Hartman has plenty of skill, was a former first round pick, and was one of Team USA’s top guys at the World Junior’s last year. He’s not afraid to get his hands dirty either. Has five fighting majors on the year to go along with 18 points down in Rockford and plays with some real bite. Think Andrew Shaw, but maybe a little bit bigger and a higher offensive ceiling. He’s also a winger so he could perhaps slide right into Carcillo’s spot next to Kruger and give that line a little bit more pop without sacrificing any of the grit(Carcillo hasn’t exactly put the fear of God into anyone this year. Hopefully he can contribute a little here in the coming weeks.
Also, Teravainen was obviously going to get sent down once Versteeg was back. He showed flashes, but also showed that he’s not ready to be a consistent contributor at the NHL level just yet. Still loads of potential for Turbo.
